Bee Cave Raised Beds - Austin, TX

We built cedar board raised beds and filled them with woody debris and a raised bed soil mix. The beds were then planted with vegetables, fruiting shrubs, common kitchen herbs, medicinal tea plants, and a living mulch ground cover. The goal for this project was to create easily accessible garden beds that would grow an abundance of food and medicine in a small space. Unfortunately, follow-up photos were lost, but by mid-summer these beds were overflowing with food, while vines draped the surrounding deer fence. There was more abundance than the homeowners knew what to do with.
